Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Training Level 1 – Awareness

This level of awareness training is for all members of our workforce across health, care and education sectors (including volunteers).

Please note: you must undertake all the modules in this level and also verify completion of each to move to the next training level.

Module 1 – SEND Basic Awareness Level 1 Training

TOTAL TIME: 1 hour

This e-learning module gives you a clear introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – what it means, the key laws and guidance, the challenges children, young people, and their families may face, and practical ways to offer support. You’ll also find out where to access further information, including the Local Offer.

Module 2 – Oliver McGowan Training

TOTAL TIME: 1 hour 30 minutes

This e-learning module builds general awareness of the support autistic people and those with a learning disability may need. It covers understanding learning disability, autism, communication, reasonable adjustments, and more.

Please note, if you have already completed the Oliver McGowan training via your employing organisation, you do not need to repeat it but must verify your training within this module link.
