Strength based practice

5 MODULES
TOTAL TIME: 5 hours

The strength-based approach focuses on an individuals’ strengths (including personal Strengths, social and community networks) and not on their deficits. It is a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach based on working with individuals to support/promote their own wellbeing. Put simply, the aim is to help people improve their health and overall quality of life by supporting them to make more independent, pro-active choices, taking into account of all determinants of wellbeing in context of any existing health and social care support.

Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Training Level 1 – Awareness

2 MODULES
TOTAL TIME: 2 hours 30 minutes

This level of awareness training is for all members of our workforce across health, care and education sectors (including volunteers).

The SEND Code of Practice (2015) sets out the statutory requirements to ensure appropriate levels of knowledge, skill and competence are achieved in our workforce to support our children and young people with SEND.

This training programme provides a consistent approach across the Bury locality partnership to development of knowledge, skills and competencies of our health/care and education workforce (including volunteers). It specifically supports development for those in roles that are required to be able to identify, assess and meet needs of children and young people with SEND.

2 MODULES
TOTAL TIME: 2 hours

This level of awareness training is for all members of our workforce across health, care and education sectors (including volunteers).

12 MODULES
TOTAL TIME: 23 hours

This level of training is for our workforce that are directly working with children/young people with SEND who would contribute/lead on assessing, planning, intervening and/or evaluating the needs of the child/young person with SEND.

The SEND Code of Practice (2015) sets out the statutory requirements to ensure appropriate levels of knowledge, skill and competence are achieved in our workforce to support our children and young people with SEND.

This training programme provides a consistent approach across the Bury locality partnership to the development of knowledge, skills and competencies of our health/care and education workforce (including volunteers). It specifically supports development for those in roles that are required to be able to identify, assess and meet the needs of children and young people with SEND.

Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Training Level 4 – Enhanced Awareness

3 MODULES

This level of training is for our workforce that hold a designated roles for their organisations for children/young people with SEND requiring enhanced level of knowledge including the Designated Clinical Offer (DCO) and Designated Medical Officer (DMO).

The SEND Code of Practice (2015) sets out the statutory requirements to ensure appropriate levels of knowledge, skill and competence are achieved in our workforce to support our children and young people with SEND.

This training programme provides a consistent approach across the Bury locality partnership to the development of knowledge, skills and competencies of our health/care and education workforce (including volunteers). It specifically supports development for those in roles that are required to be able to identify, assess and meet the needs of children and young people with SEND.
